I was hoping that I might get some assistance in possibly obtaining a nice bow for the new season ... I've heard so much about the Mathews and the Hoyt ... all of various models. The one that I've seen (and seen only) that I've found I'm in love with is the Bear Attack Shadow Series ... don't ask me why, it just speaks to me ... or maybe I'm just hearing voices? Anyway, like everyone else in the known world I'm looking for a FAST bow, wisper quiet, smooth draw, and as a side note ... brings deer near the stand!! ;D Right now I have a Parker Spitfire, and I like it ... it's my first bow and although I'm sure any number of you guys/gals could beat me in a shooting match, I think I'm fairly decent. At least until my string issues have put me on the sidelines.

While conventional wisdom would dictate that there is no perfect bow aside from the bow that is perfect for you....I must interject my own beliefs here. I LOVE speed and know how to use it to achieve more than simply speed. I can shoot anything well but not every bow requires my ability to shoot it well. All thats said....there are not many bows that will fit into the top two catagories...but those that do are o.k. with me....no matter what name they carry I couldn't give a rats ass about noise....if I can hear it then the deer hears it and if the deer hears it...the deer can/will react. No matter how soft or loud the report.

I guess I would like something to be smooth on the draw as my main priority. Secondly, dependability, Third, speed. My Parker isn't nearly as smooth on teh draw as my Fathers PSE ... it was the last one PSE sold with the overdraw ... his is also faster than mine, eventhough it's draw weight is approximately 5 lbs. less than mine. That's just guessing of course, but that's about right. He's also shooting the Aluminum arrows ... but is currently switching over to Carbon as he just got the same fallaway rest as I did ... thanks again Spiker!

Smooth draw is one of the many reasons why I shoot a Hoyt. Now you can have smooth draw, and speed. Every time I shoot other bows, then pick up the Vulcan, I am amazed at how much better I like the feel. Go to a shop, and shoot them, you can't go wrong.

I'll give it a shot. There's a place near my Father's that has an indoor range and will let you try out a bow if you're interested. I'm not absolutely sure if they have Hoyt ... but it couldn't hurt to see.

I have just one problem at the moment with that bow ... $$$ It's really nice looking though, and from what I've read it shoots like a dream. I've already got a stash fund building, if things work out right ... I might end up with it yet. Santa Clause is bringing me a new string (Winner's Choice) and some Scorpion Venom I've not been good on the Hunting end of things, maybe I've been good elsewhere? ;D

Yeah, it's tough to spend the "loooong" dollar to quote an eccentric ATer, but....to buy a bow that will last years, and perform flawlessly.....with the most important features: Lifetime warranty, and shop support, is priceless. Buy off ebay, or the internet, and you have zero warranty because either you are not the original owner, or the company does not honor internet sales. JMHO...

Yeah, I hear what you're saying ... I buy very few things off the internet just for that same reason.
