The first picture shows the felt ring that I made from the low nap roller body a few days ago. I think it shows up a whole lot better The second picture shows that this Doe definitely checked it out. The camera was set up in high grass and on the edge of a drainage ditch, against a wet marsh. I am surprised to see that this deer managed to smell or find the scent wafer to be honest

I didn't have any luck at all with those. Really, the best thing was the cheese cloth. Ask someone who has had butternut in their hands.....it is very strong!. If it doesn't work well with cloth or felt....I dont believe that anything does. I do think that there really hasn't been a lure good enough to show the difference between cloth and a better dispersant article...or someone would have already have made a fuss about the benefits of cheese cloth. I am not saying that I have a lock on anything...just that there aren't but a few good lures that will attract anything....when set out on an air current. I believe in Tinks original 69 and maple trail (defunct) and thats it...to be honest. Put it on a drag or put it in a scrape and I'll add a few more names to the list.....but when speaking of air bourn...only those previously listed. I am always trying diffrent things...but so far...nothing beats cheese cloth Then cheese cloth it is. I am a firm believer in "If it ain't broke don't fix it." The pics have got me really excited. I can't wait for the season to open on September 15th Bob

Yesterday I hung the camera on the edge of a dead pine forest...where not even squirrels live by the looks of things. This is about 5 miles away from where I had it yesterday. This time I used a proper dispenser. Now look at that perfect shot This is a very big Doe IMO Please note that the directions for the lure pad were followed in as much as the pad was hung at the browse Height. There was no browse at ground level or mid level, so the pad went high...within the browse.

Here is one of many pics from the trail cam and I fixed the scent post so now it can be seen. I am going to put out corn and Butternut in two different farms and see what comes in.

I have been so busy today with this butternut stuff!. I spent all but 1.5 hours in this chair ..... 7:18 till now and I still have mail in the box over at AT and in my email. CRAZY!
I ran out to get my camera (in the dark) after not being able to get to it yesterday. It was gone.
Unfortunately, I had set it up off a major highway and although I had it back to the road (behind the tree) somehow, someone saw it. Maybe it was the bungee cord that caught their eye.
So now....I am camera poor. It's up to you guys until I can get a new camera.
By the way....thanks for the pics Buckshot

That's crazy BT any chance you had the wrong tree? It is very rare for stuff to walk off here, although it happens more often than it used to. Most houses are never locked, many stands are in the woods year 'round. border patrol even uses game camera's to "watch" (I've found theirs).

To make the Butternut scent dispersal a little easier for me I made this. Things needed: 1) Cheesecloth 2) Drinking Straw 3) Wire 4) Pliers 5) Hot Glue Gun I first took the marking flag and took off the flag witch left me with a 20" piece of wire. I bent the wire on the end about 1/2" so that the straw could slide over the end. The second bend is 5 3/4" away from the end of the wire that I first bent. Now the straw can slide on but won't come off till I take it off. I cut the straw at 4 3/4". I cut the cheese cloth to a 4"X5" square( you can make it what you want.) Hot glue the cheesecloth to the drinking straw I used hot glue because it doesn't have an oder and bonds well to the straw and goes into the cheesecloth to hold it together. I bent the one 1 1/2" from the bottom so it will fit into my broken arrow I place by the corn. The other one I kept straight so I can put it straight into the ground or bend it around brush or a tree limb to hold it. If you have everything it doesn't take that long to make. WIRECHEESECLOTH AND DRINKING STRAWWIRE BENTCHEESECLOTH GLUED TO DRINKING STRAWALL PUT TOGETHER
