Butternut question:
I used it on 8 hunts and never had a positive reaction from deer and I also had some negative reactions so my question is, could the contained that I stored the scent have effected the butternut? I used one of those small plastic bottles with a drip cap. After 3 or 4 days I noticed the butternut looked a little turbid but to me and my wife it smelled the same as the stuff in the master bottle.
Looking at what is left in the plastic bottle it seems a little amber in color, it this the normal color?

Ghost The normal color is clear and seems that the Butternut is reacting with the bottle you are using for the woods. It sounds like the bottle is breaking down and is contaminating the Butternut. I would not use anything other than the bottle the butternut came in and throw out the contaminated lure from the bottle you are using.

Ghost...get me your mailing address and I will ship you another for free. You can be my tester for the new improved/ drip proof bottle As to the reactions.... A deer may not come to it...that can happen...although it seems pretty rare. A deer has to be able or at least inclined to eat....thats why we say hold off during the rut and use after it is over. Before and after is always best.

I have been looking through all the old threads and I had to go back through this one. It seems like it has been a long time but really only a few months have past since this thread was started.
I am still after a mature buck but I could have been all tagged out months ago if I would have taken the 2 ½ year old bucks that came in.
Butternut this year has worked in getting me 5 does in my freezer and many more encounters with others. The pics on the Butternut site show I am not the only hunter who has had success with Butternut.
At the start of this thread I just purchased my trail cams and never used Butternut before in my life. Today I am a firm believer in this product and will all ways use it when ever possible.
I need to say that BT is one in a million and this world is a better place with him in it. Like I mentioned I never used Butternut before this year and never heard of it ether. I talked with BT for some time and I was asked to be a Pro Staffer for Butternut. I worked at it did my best and then I was asked to be a state sales rep to now being partners with BT in Butternut and in charge of National Sales for this Deer Lure. What a crazy deer season this has been for me and many Thanks to BT.
