Just re-listed Butternut sweet scent on ebay. If you know of anyone who uses deer lures or wants to try a deer lure that works as claimed....have them search BUTTERNUT DEER LURE. ORGo to the bottom of the home page here at the archers edge to get the discount

I'm going to give it a try for my early hunts this year BT, ONLY because you endorse it!

I think that BT should re-evaluate his advertising plan for the Butternut Deer Lure. The way I see it if Field Logic can claim that the Rage broadhead "expand(s) your kill zone" and is "like throwing an axe through the deer" BT's Butternut Deer Lure must be equal to at least 80 acres of beans or a truck load of cracked corn. Seriously though my season starts on September 15th and I can't wait to get out there and try it. I truly believe that there is a distinct advantage in the fact that its not so widely used by other hunters. I think that many hunters do not know how to use scents properly and by doing so they educate the deer to be wary of those scents. I can't tell you how many times I have seen other hunters handle the scent bombs with their bare hands while throwing them in their pack and then head out to the woods to hunt (without taking any scent killer spray) and hang those same scent bombs in a tree to lure in the monster buck. I am no expert and I have done my share of stupid things (well maybe more than my share ;D) but all of these mistakes educate the deer IMO. Bob

I purchased some back in March and just put some out this evening. I purchased two trail cams today and had to see how they work so I set out some corn with Butternut and placed the trail cam over it. Now to wait and see if anything comes to it.

Nice My deer are burnt out on this stuff from the last two years of testing but when I first started, they were all over it...when I finally got the correct ingredients mixed properly. Look forward to seeing what shows up. Question.... How did you use the butternut in this set? Where was it placed? Whats the estimated population of deer per. sq. mile in your area?. Any other info. would be appreciated

I put 20lbs of corn out on the ground 18 yards from my stand location on the other side of a fence were soybeans are planted. My stand is in a cow pasture in a tree line that runs next to the fence. The pasture fence runs parallel to the tree line then makes a 90deg turn away from the tree line. Think of an L with my tree stand being on the outside of the L and the corn on the inside. Deer cross the fence on both sides of the corner going into and out of the field. I placed a broken arrow about 18" long about one foot away from the corn standing straight up. Then I place cheese cloth on top of the arrow and put about 10 drops of Butternut on cheese cloth. Not sure of the deer population P.S.M. but it is high in my area. I will try to find out

Glad to hear that you used the cheese cloth and the scent post as suggested While 10 drops should do the trick...dont worry about doubling that since the cloth can be stored and re-used at a later date. It really does last a long time
