The cap does not have a wax seal. I am working on it! All (it seems) that I can do is go to a solid cap w/o dispenser. Talk about a potential disaster Oil on the fingers and a wide open bottle I'll keep working on it.... I keep mine in the refrig in a sealed plastic bag. No leaks. Maybe storing at room temperature allows the temperature and therefore the pressure in the bottle to force the oily material pass the seal. Maybe seal is the wrong word. ;D Ghost

Well, I may have a temporary solution to the leaky butternut bottle I went Wally mart and looked around for something to transfer the butternut to and selected a small sized bottle of hand sterilizer. Brought it home and dumped out the contents, washed it really well and then made sure that it was completely dry. Put about an inch of the butternut in it and then carried it in my pocket out to the lure setup site and there weren`t any leaks and it dispensed drips properly. Here are some pictures

This is the cap we use on the 2 oz. I believe I may elect to go with this one for all. The dispenser caps are options (everywhere) or come in a plastic grade that would break down and leech into the lure. Better to invert on the cloth than destroy the lure all together. The oil does expand in temperature changes...like any oil...so thats why it is not filled to the very top. The only other alternative is to increase price to cover the cap....which would not seem to be the best alternative.

I wouldn't think a better dispenser cap would increase the cost that much.... .....And a great quality product bottled in a good quality bottle with dispenser cap would justify the small increase in the cost. The drip dispenser is MUCH better than just a plain cap to have to remove and then invert the bottle on the cloth I bought two bottles and have to keep both in a plastic bag because of leakage. It would be much nicer to just carry the bottle in a side pocket of my back pack!

Well guys if this doesn't prove that Butternut works I don't know what will. Yesterday morning I took a doe who was smelling the air all the way in and I let her have it at 15 yards from my ground blind. Then that evening I was in the blind with my son and we saw 12 deer and heard more but I did drop two of them. If you want a lure that works like it is said to then this is the one.

But..... 0.64 cents a piece to replace and nobody I have checked with (a dozen dealers perhaps) has the same bottles as it pertains to grade...which does not allow the plastic to leech into the product. I will continue to research it

O.K. .... these are a bit more but I really like the pump and it (hopefully) has a proper seal. Yes?
