Hey guys, Im new to the site and I am trying to use the search function to go back and look through the old posts to find test results on drop away rests.
I currently shoot a whisker biscuits and though I am starting to shoot pretty well with it (290 last sunday 3D round), I would like to switch to a drop away rest, but I want a rest that would serve me well in 3D shoots, but would prefer a capture style drop away for hunting. With this said, I don't want something that is a nightmare to tune or requires constant attention. I enjoy shooting spots indoors and shooting 3D, but I am first and foremost a hunter and don't want anything that would risk the moment of truth. Any Help?

My apologies for the search engine for this site...sucks would be putting it mildly. However...go to categories that carry the topics that apply. For instance, Modern archery or Maybe even Shop talk should have something on what you are looking for. Start in modern archery and I will start looking in the others.

Not to sound like the old guy I am - I have always used the Trophy Taker. What I don't like about it - wind can blow the arrow off the rest before you can get it drawn, if you ever break the chord when hunting - you can not wire the rest in the upright position and shoot off the rest due to the "Y" design. What I like about it - other than it has never failed even in cold conditions and covered with ice (yeah, I had to crack the ice first) - I can shoot flu-flu's without any interference. Flu-flu's are a must, as I shoot a lot of birds with my bow during elk season. The design of the Quad, I have always thought flu-flu's would be a challenge. Anyone ever try? (If you shoot a grouse, out of a tree, with a normal arrow near the Wyoming border - you have to go to Wyoming to get the arrow back!)

The Montana Trap door rest has no chords and works like a charm. I have three of them
