I just saw this on the Mathews forum. A member there took a deer apart layer by layer, taking pictures and overlaying them to give a 3 dimensional view of the thoracic cavity. I would have liked to post the picture here, but the member specifically asked that the picture not be posted on other sites. This is really amazing, and a lot can be learned about the true organ placement in a deer. see why I usually aim right up the front leg. That puts the arrow in the center of all the goodies. Not a whole lot of room behind the crease on a broadside shot

I was thinking the same thing Greg. That big "safe" area about half way up the body, isn't such a big area when you see that view. Amazing how far forward the diaphragm pushes, especially down low. This view definitely shows why a little quartering away is a good thing.
