I dunno about the average shooter BT... I consider myself a little above average and looking at spikers 90 yard groups he is definetly above average (I'm still working on getting mine as good as yours spiker ) bambekiller shoots how many deer a year 15-20?? he ain't no slouch either. Point is we need some "average" shooters which you probably won't get a reply from after the pics above ;D I gotta shoot one more time and then post pics. I went out last night at 10:35 - it was cloudy and too dark. I have a 1/4" peep and MBG skylight sight. The pins were bright, but all I could see was the back-bone of the target - couldn't see the front leg. Ended up with good height - but 3" too far forward. will post tomorrow.

Well we have to use what we have I believe that the potential for error is as good with us as it would be for a novice but with lesser degree.....if the ability to error exists to that degree. I might be wrong.

Your welcome and deserving spiker - keep shooting like that!! My pics ain't too impressive - gotta get practicing at odd-ball shot postitions. This one is 10:35 cloudy and dark - completely too dark. I could see top edge of target and neck of target but not the foreleg or bottom edge. When I walked up to pull arrow I couldn't see the fletch till 10 or 15' away! Sat night's shot was a little low - it actually was an 1" or so from where I was aiming though. I forgot about aiming for center of x-ring like I had been when grouping in day-light - instead I aimed for top of the bottom 1/3rd of silhouette behind front leg, but had perfect timing on light - shot at 10:25 - only shot in 24 hrs. while I was shooting there was a bird nearby saying "PSSST" (just like if I was trying to get elk4me's attention during a stalk about to botched!) I took half a dozen pics and this one turned out the best. It's about the size of a robin. Anyone know what it is? I'm thinking a Juvenile screech owl but....? So... there you are BT it was fun and I'm gonna have to practice those shots some more along with on tip toes over a branch and sitting flat on ground with legs out aiming to the right. (friend of mine shot a deer that way 2 years ago - got caught flat footed and sat down, deer circled and came in on his right. he drew with bow pointed at deer and shot with deer at his 2' oclcock.

You just described the hardest possible shot for me personally Royden. Sitting with target to the right. Even with my short AtA bow it presents a problem and one I usually set my stands up to avoid.

I think that is a screech owl .... thats pretty cool. We can pretty much take any ground shot and adjust the difference of impact (or view) by 2 due to the harder angle and less available target mass. I have still to get my own compound shot in but I will try and remember tonight.

I will post mine as soon as I get them. I am going out this weekend and going to do some practicing. I will get at least the PM shot and the warmed up group. AM shots may have to wait because when we go out there there's not many mornings we get up until well after the sun comes up, unless of course its during the season. I am a novice bowhunter that bought my first bow 8 months ago. Hell, havent even spilled any blood with an arrow yet. First bow got stolen in a break in 4 months after that. I bought my replacement a month ago (same exact bow only a year newer) so we'll see how it all works out. I do shoot alot because when it comes time I want to be ready. I'll post the pics as soon as I get them. This ought to be fun!!!
