Well this weekend I did glimpse a good sized carp in the deep and fast running water below the damn My Youngest son was trying for some more of those small mouths and all of a sudden he is jumping up and down yelling for me to throw in and catch this huge fish I got a pretty good look at about a 15 - 20# carp before it finally moved on into the faster water. Of course everything is just working against me with the rain making the water faster, muddier and deeper I haven't found a trailer for the boat yet and I am way to busy even if I did so I am being held captive to my shooting by mother nature for now

I shot one finally! :)Man it's been tough. First of the season.I've only been out 3 or 4 times so far this year and had some fleeting shots, but the weather has been tough. It's either murky water or whipping wind. Today I went to a small part of a resivoir by me. Of course the wind picked up and put a nice chop on the water. We hit a small cove and saw some feeding bubbles. We drifted in and I saw a tail sticking up just below the surface.....perfect, head down feeding. I drew my kingfisher recurve and let fly. I took the fish center mass with the arrow sticking clean through. This particular body of water has smaller fish than others around here, so i was suprised when I saw he was about 20#'s. Well I got him half way in the boat and reached for the "fish billy" to end his flailing. Just as I grabbed the billy and prepared to add the finishing touch, he slipped off the arrow. It turns out that the new head I was using( I'll find out the name), only needs one spin before letting the barbs flip around. :PWith all the fighting he did, the head came loose and the barbs reversed. He hit the water and made waves for the next shore as fast as he could. Never did get him. The moral is always use Muzzy fish heads, I never had one of them fail.
Man if BT had only done a fish head review this never would have happened! ;D ;D ;D

And on it goes ! Stupid Rain !!! So far this year I have struck out for the chance to get off one arrow on a fish that was attainable. One shot on a phantom and that was it Summer is here already so the spawn is over and the little boat I got is far from ready for the water Someone out there has to post me a pic before I lose it ! This just isn't right!!!

These were a few fish we got one evening last August. A couple up around 25#'s. I think the one smallest was 13#'s

They work wonders at catching racoons in the fall. Put them in a jar with a cheese-cloth top, "sun ripen" them and freeze 'till coon season opens up. Works good for mink too....although I don't really see any around here.

We have a local that runs a cord through their docile and keeps them in a tub for a week so they will clean up enough for the table.
