Yeah, little more than 800 but close enough. The Maxxis 35 is nearly a 980 I think. You're thinking of that Carbon Matrix Kris....I'm thinking the Maxxis will run around $800 though being it's one of Hoyt's flagships for 2010.

$980 Wow! Is that what the MSRP is or what the shop is actually selling it for? Our local shop in KY sells a lot of Hoyts and from what they tell me are in the top ten nationally for sales so I'm sure their MAP pricing is good from Hoyt, but with that said the Maxxis 31 they sell for $719 and the Maxxis 35 for $759. 980 seems steep!!!

I seen an Alpha Max at the shop for ... 850 (I THINK) but not absolutely sure. I don't know, I guess I'm in an area that doesn't sell many bows ... I always thought people in Texas hunted and shot frequently ... not only rifle but bow as well. I guess I'm wrong. I did notice on that Maxxis ... well, seemed to me anyway ... the let off was about 65%. Pulling that thing back at first was a chore I thought at first this thing has to be set at ATLEAST 80 lbs ... nope, 70. Needless to say, a little sore at the moment. LOL Obviously a cam and a half is much different to pull back than mine is. $980 Wow! Is that what the MSRP is or what the shop is actually selling it for? I wish I could answer that, I really do. I could get the Vulcan like Spiker has right now for under 6 bills ... everything else though is still out of my range. (At this moment) My old man has decided on the Z7 ... after falling in love with the Monster ... now of course that's changed to the PSE Omen ... but I figure that will change too. LOL This is just a truck load for a bow!.....unless it's the last bow your gonna buy. Where does it stop?

Under 6 bills is nice..I paid almost $800.

I think the tag read $585 to be exact. That's reachable for me right now. All I'd need to do is get a sight, rest, and I'm shooting something new!! Much faster than I'm currently shooting I'm SURE ... Last I checked I think it was around 235 - 240 ... not sure what the Vulcan shoots ... but I'm fairly confident it's a little faster than that. ;D

That's spot on as far as speed rating. I lose 20 fps for losing two inches of draw from 30". I shoot 28". (You will lose 10 fps for every inch of draw length under 30"). I bought mine after seeing skipmaster's bow, but I couldn't shoot it because his is set at 80#. I went to a shop, and shot the one I bought at 60#, and fell in love with it. It's my go to bow, and I have 4 different ones.

4 different bows!!! ? Man that's what I'm talkin about! LOL I've got one now, the Parker Spitfire, and while I know I can hit pretty much anything I might want to ... I get the feeling that I'm leveling out in regards to potential (yardage wise) It just doesn't have the throttle I really need to shoot out to 50 - 60 yards consistantly ... much less 100 like some do. I really like the back wall of the Hoyt ... same with the Bear believe it or not. The back wall of the Mathews bows I wasn't a fan of ... but they were certainly SMOOTH! The one other thing about Hoyt that I like was the weight, I just like a slightly heavier messenger. My bow is set at 80% letoff, and there isn't an adjustment. I always feel like I'm not holding a bow, so I have to remind myself that I'm at full draw. That's another reason I was looking for 65% letoff .... more to hold, sure ... but I find it hard to believe that you'll forget you're at full draw. LOL The shop I'm heading to tomorrow that I've been going to a lot has the bows I've been trying out. I'll see if I can shoot that one and I'm going to be picking up the True Fire Hurricane release .... been using it at the shop, and I got to say I like it. (Just not experienced enough for the T handle yet, but I still like it a lot. Groups are good but apparently I'm torquing the string which is causing me to pull the shot left.)
