It's set at 28" DL ... atleast I think it is. That's what it felt like ... there will certainly be some "adjustments" to the bow, such as a string, taking those fuzzy things off there, and I'm looking to adjust the letoff ... I just haven't figured out how to do that yet. Since I'd be doing that, might as well get a new cable too! Now for outfitting it ... I've got 182.65 (give or take) of store credit at Cabela's and they have pretty much what I'm looking for I think. I plan on putting the HHA sight I'm been staring at for a couple months on there ... I mean why not, it needs a new one, might as well get a good one. I haven't had a chance to mess with the new Ripcord Code Red (name?) but that's something that I will certainly be researching more ... the guy had a Ripcord rest on there at the range. Quiver wise - I haven't got a clue as to what I'm going to put on there. I haven't put the arrows on a scale or anything, but they're lighter than mine ... I think. I will weight them before I go to far though. Hell I can't wait to make the necessary adjustments and put it thru the chrono ... I will put it thru the chrono before I go to far, just need the rest and sights on there first. Yeah I think it's going to be hard to go to work today ... :: cough cough :: I think I might need to stay home. ;D

Go with the Quad LD. I use the Ripcords, and while they are a good solid rest, I have had two incidents where I lost a deer because I had to let down, and the rest goes down when you do. The Quad will stay up, and allow you to draw again. Eventually I will change them out. Your limb sticker says it's a 29" dl. Forget those arrow holders for the shelf as the shelf is concave and doesn't handle it well without contact. Get yourself some sort of speed balls for some extra speed also. I like these. At least two on top, and bottom approx 2 1/8" from where the cam meets the string. www.bowhuntingstuff.com/c=F7pNicpOYNQofcFwxYpzNHU6f/product/4192-STRING-CUSHION/Tru-Fire-Universal-Bowstring-Cushion-Button.htmlHere they are on mine.

the fun part!
--qad rest would be my choice also... --sight - montana black gold flashpoint... --quiver - limbsaver's quiver or a cat mini backpack quiver (i am a ground hunter and chase antelope - that is the best for me) --speed buttons are cheap and effective speed boost - but it works the best to play with the chrony while you experiment with how many and exactly where to put 'em. --silencers - those fuzzy things work as well or better than many - spyder speed balls don't lose as much speed, but that is about it.
draw length - get it to fit you well! If it does have a 29" mod and the stop is at 28.5" your holding weight will be higher and you will have no valley.

Royden, this bow almost doesn't have a valley anyway. It's such a smooth draw all the way through the cycle. I really appreciate it more, and more, after shooting all the new bows. Omegabuck, check out the Bohning detachable quiver also. I think they work well, and are reasonably priced.

29 DL ... odd why is it that it feels like it was MADE for me? I mean I know that I'm between a 27.5 and 28" DL ... but this feels so perfect it's not even funny! Story about the first time I pulled the bow back ... I pulled the thing to full draw, and I SWEAR to anyone who will listen I actually heard Barry White in my ears. "Mmmmm ... Yeah baby you're lookin good ..." Was it in my head, maybe ... was it my brain telling me this is the one? Maybe, all I know is when I hit the back wall and finally let it loose, I had cash in my hand shortly thereafter! LOL I told my Father (who was sitting behind me) about that and at first he didn't understand what I was talking about ... then halfway home he busts out laughing and said that's the funniest thing he's heard in many years. Regarding the Tru Fire buttons, you said top and bottom .... anything around the D-Loop ... I thought I remembered someone saying don't use them around the arrow nock but I may be mistaken.

I was also wondering if anyone could identify the camo pattern that's on the bow. I haven't been able to id it ... but then I'm a bit distracted with putting a sight on. LOL

No nothing around the loop. Just like mine, near the bottom, and top cams. You need to place them using a chrono to get the best placement, and usually 2 1/8" to 2 1/2" from where the cam meets the string is the best. The Vulcan is Realtree Hardwoods Green HD. It looks like brown to me though, all Hoyts do. Here's a matching Quiver from Bohning: www.cabelas.com/p-0004656.shtmlOh, and sometimes bows come into a shop, and a guy comes in wanting a 28" dl, and the bow they have is a 29"dl, so they swap out the cams, and don't change the sticker. The dw, and string size stays the same. While you are at full draw, have someone measure the distance between where the nock's throat touches the string to the front of the riser, and that will be your actual bow dl.

I'll be getting the DL checked out soon ... I was disapointed the new Ripcord wasn't in stores yet, maybe it's just in this area? Oh well. I can't remeber if I posted this already or not ... I picked up the HHA sight I've almost been arested for while looking at it so frequently! ;D Also I went ahead and picked up some of those Tru Fire "cushion buttons" but I've not put them on yet. I was wanting to get a baseline FPS before taking anything off of the string, and then putting other stuff on. I've been considering them for a while, but they're kind of hard to come by around here for some reason. This morning I grabbed the quiver you were mentioning ... like you said price was right. Also I went ahead and got the QAD Ultra Rest HD Pro Series ... I figured what the hell. LOL I kind of wish I had read the list before hand ... but I think I did fairly well. ** String might have to wait a little bit ... until I knock down some overtime or maybe ... taxes? Now the hard part. I've never installed a fall away and they're talking about using a "football clamp" or something like that ... the one that's on my Parker doesn't have any such clamp. It's got the timing cord tied in a little not on the other side of the string up against the serving. (Hope that makes sense) I did notice that my Father had to use a different "fork" on his PSE because of the short brace height ... I will have to figure that one out to. All part of the fun I guess. I will post pictures as soon as I get done. No nothing around the loop. Just like mine, near the bottom, and top cams. You need to place them using a chrono to get the best placement, and usually 2 1/8" to 2 1/2" from where the cam meets the string is the best. The Vulcan is Realtree Hardwoods Green HD. There should be directions with the Quad. Did you get it yet?
