'bout time you showed the rest of us what you have! Nice looking bow, sounds like it would be fun to shoot. How's the hand shock? (Just curious!)

Very little shock SMJ, if any at all.Draws smooth too! I guess I just stumbled into a fairly good bow. A little light weight tho, but that's OK.
Wait till I finish sanding and finishing!!!

Wow. Looks good. Isnt shooting the bow you made amazing? I thought it was amazing to shoot something I made.
Yes what I thought were the gaps I thought I saw were at the fades

Hey Coke... yeah it sure is something to see something that I was sure would fail end up as a fun practice bow! If you look at the fades now, do you still see those gaps? I think the wide glue line in one of the pics has already been carved away once I started rounding off the corners at the riser section. Anyway, it shoots pretty good. Now it's time to finish her.

Final sanding and staining...maybe first coat of finish this weekend. Anybody got ideas of a good finish to use over danish oil stain?

Well, 2chucks2, I have to admitt that feel the same way when I read through all of your postings!
By all means, ping me any time you want. I enjoy making bows happen, and wish I had more time for it - I know right where you are coming from about that more time to play thingie!!!
A pal of mine does laminated recurves as a job, he quit high tech to make bows, and has made more than a few take downs. If you have specific questions about that whole process, I'll bet I can get him to post a few lines about it... I might have to beat him at a shoot to get it... the Good Lord onlys knows what that might cost me if I loose the contest... but we just might be able to get him on here for you. I'll certainly give it my best shot... I have only made one glass take down longbow so far. All the rest have been your standard issue full length longbow. Spend your time on limb shape. Making a new grip is a lot more easy than coming up with a new mold and clamps for the limb. Also, I would recommend smooth-on for glue, which will require building an oven to bake the bow in... This is not tough though, so don't worry about it! (I just thought I'd prime the pump a little bit!)
