A sleeping bag is a lot of insulation. You could end up with a lot of heat under one of those, even with only two bulbs going. I think we'd better make sure URAC can take the heat, some glues tend to crystallize when exposed to extra heat. I suppose we'd better check and see what URAC will take, heat wise!

OK - here is a link to check out. I may have posted this before, if so here it is again: www.cytec.com/pdf/URAC185.pdfThe second heading of ADVANTAGES - second dot, says you can let it set at temperatures between 70 and 125 degrees F. Make sure you don't go over 125 degrees F with your setup! It does not specifically state what happens when you over heat, but you probably don't want to do that! Also not stated here is how much shorter the set time gets with heat. I think that you will be fine with a 24 hour set time. You can see how hard the glue was that you removed last night, after 24 hours above 70 F it will be just as hard. Make sure you get the right mix, and you will be fine.

Well folks....I've discovered two possible factors in my backing failure earlier in the week. 1. Too danged anxious to look at those curves, caused me to remove the bow from the form waaaayyyyyyy to early. Glue didn't have time to set properly..I'll never remove a bow again at less than 24 hours! 2. I discovered that I remember the glue seemed to be a bit on the stiff side, and found it rather difficult to spread well. Viscosity was much to heavy after comparing it to last nite's glue-up . I CAREFULLY measured and remeasured my portions of urac, and found it to be much thinner than I've recently been using. 3. After all, the instructions do say you are supposed to be able to use a brush as a method to spread the glue. Anyhow she's been reglued, and is currently resting under cover, soaking up the radient heat from my lamps. Don't worry SMJ, I've checked and rechecked the temperature and it's not very hot in there at all. Likely around 85deg. :-XI'll take her out on Sunday morning. HAppy Easter!

Well, she's off the form....I lost about hald of my deflex and an inch of reflex taking her out.... Glue has set rock hard! She rested36 hours in the form, so We'll see what comes out of it after clean-up.

So long as she has gentle curves, you should be good to go!

Mornin' SMJ....yup very gentle -flowing curves...just not as pronounced curves as the form showed with clamps on. But I think it's OK....

Well, here's a couple of pics after clean-up and trimming the limb tips... She's holding 1.5" reflex but only kept 1/2" deflex. Still looks OK tho. Next, I'll trim the riser block and glue-that on. No nock overlays till I get her tillered. Here's my incubator, LOL. coupe of profile shots... Her's kinda cool pic...I call it "Labour of Love"

Thanks BT...looks better than the first one huh.LOL The pic showing the limbs from above is a bit distorted...they are actually more symetrical than they appear.
How do ya like my laminated hickory backing? I've never seen anyone try that before..."frugality is the father of inspiration"...(I made that one up!)
