There is a BIG deal with Aerovane II at high speed. As a matter of fact I just come back with another meeting with professor Michael Selig of Champaign Illinois on the subject of Aerovanes. The consensus is that Aerovane II need to be no less than 290 fps to really get air born due to its size and efficiency. I was also introduce to the term Aero Elasticity Tailoring which I was also happy surprised that I have actually implemented that in Aerovane II due to the material I have chosen and the durometer hardness that I have decided! So base on what I know, Aerovane II will work even better at higher speed all the way to about 550+ FPS and as the speed drop it will compensate the lower speed (still need to be over 300 FPS) and it will keep doing its magic to about 280 FPS, then it just behave like any flat vane under that speed. That's said, the Aero stability factory of an airfoil is what really got me confused. It is surprising to learn Aero Center, and Gravitation Center variance and what effect it can have on an arrow. So Longer arrow AND put the vane as far back as possible is what I have learned!
At lower speed, Aerovane I is KING due to its 2 part deal. I am still working on all the technical aspect of Aerovane I as more I learn, the more I found out how amazing is a few rough surface, grove, and concave surface can do in various air speed! So I shall keep Aerovane T under wrap for a year or 2 as all you get to understand Aerovane I, Aerovane II and the very soon to be seen Aerovane 1.5. Aerovane T is just too radical, I think the world is not ready for it!
