Skipmasters reply to the porcupine thread got me laughing and thinking I really haven't had all that much which was what I would call bad....and then I remembered something NY pond cats The nastiest things I have ever had in my mouth...hands down. So bad in fact that I would have puked except for the fact that the piece of fish I had put in my mouth blocked the exit for whatever was in my stomach. That was a Shame too ..... the taste of warm puke would have been a welcomed palate cleanser at that very moment.

I tried a baked filet from a 5lb channel cat I caught out of the Scioto River a few years back. I think I have a good idea what the bottom of that river tastes like . River cats of any size are now strictly catch and release for me.

I've eaten everything from chipmunks to Mt lion and NOTHING tastes as bad as a Porqupine. I've even eaten rats, frogs, crickets and snakes.........still not even close!
