PSE enters the speed game?
"Rumor has it PSE has shown up with a 33" hybrid cam bow that is shooting somewhere in the neighborhood of 350 fps.... Something called the X-FORCE!!"
Supposedly 6" BH With my 26" draw that BH would be fine
I might just be selling my Dad the Diablo. /kidding //kind-a

I heard about this last night....some talk on AT about it?.
That's a heck of a jump for PSE!
The only thing I don't care for in these speed bows are the short ATA that seem to be the norm anymore.
It's as if the manufacturers want a fast bow that is as hard to shoot as possible as opposed to not.

That's a heck of a jump for PSE! It really is not. the Diablo shoots a very real 300+ with 8.25" BH. I'm still getting 260fps+ with 26" draw. If you take the IBO of 315 and start reducing the BH by INCHES the speed will obviously increase. What PSE has done is recognize that right now Bowtech, Elite, and others are generating media through speed, regardless of shootability. So, they have thrown their hat in the ring to catch some of the speed freak press. However. Some people from ATA re reporting that PSE's new riser geometry and cams are allowing for a VERY shootable 6" BH. And at 26" draw, that small of a BH is not really that much of a liability...

I have to say that it is a big jump. everybody has 300fps bows, not many have 350fps. As to speed reguardless of shootability.........I don't see many bows out there that are unforgiving or tough to shoot. some of the fastest bows out there are also some of the quietest and best shooting. Look at the Allegaince, Vulcan, synergy, turbo-tec. all very quick and very shootable. Now bows from by gone eras such as (sorry BT) the BK2. they were fast but at the cost of shootability. they didn't sell well because of it.

It seems in the last few years the hype about speed has came to play for every bow manufacture. I have nothin against speed. 1 of my Pro Staff guys shoot a Hoyt Vulcan , and is clockin a whoppin 298fps. My question is with a bow shootin in the 290's fps is there a larger margin for shooters error? The other half of this question is a bow shootin the 290's fps is quieter than a bow shootin in the 250's fps? Is there too much hype on speed? Can arrow maintain it coarse accuratey @ 298 fps consistantly? I was alway into stealth for my bow "quiet" as the old sayin , "They never hear the one that pokes them" Bow manufacture have came miles from bows 10 year ago.

I have to say that it is a big jump. everybody has 300fps bows, not many have 350fps. It IS a big jump, but I don't find it surprising. I guess I was saying that PSE has been showing that they can make top end bows with huge brace heights and comparable speed. The Diablo is listed as 5fps slower than the SB, about the same slower than the Vtech and Ultratech, but with an "inch" more brace height. They could have lowered the BH easily to make up that speed, but they were making a hunters bow and went with an acceptable speed and added forgiveness. I didn't have a doubt that technically they could make a faster bow. But they have never shown the interest until now. So, they applied some of their expertise and jumped into the hyper speed bow market this year. It is not a matter of 'shootablity' with this particular bow, it is a showcase bow to combat the growing public image that PSE can no longer hang with Bowtech, Elite, and now even High Country in the speed game. It really is to recapture some image, like Ford putting out the GT40. Your not really putting it out there for your average garage tuner to play with like the Mustang... you are putting it out there to show up the Viper and Vette and illustrate that if you WANT you can even hang with the Porshe, Ferrari and Lambo's boutique manufacturers.
