I picked up my Vulcan tonight and it rocks. The draw is so smooth and it shoots light out. I actually have it set at 80#'s and it draws like my Trykon at 70#'s. I set it up with a G5 peep, Rip cord, Cobra sidewinder LX and a Hoyt stab. I have a loop, brass nock and the peep on the string. I served up the area where the shock supressor hits the string. I'm getting some nice speed too. I haven't even played with nocks near the cams. I should get another 6fps or so when i do. I haven't decided what weight arrow I am gonna shoot yet. I did some playing around though. right now with my Trykon, I am just at 5gpp and getting 290fps with a 370grain arrow. i am happy with that speed. It was quick yet didn't make BH flight tough at all.
here are the numbers for the vulcan. 355grain arrow-321fps 370grain arrow-316fps 463grain arrow-290fps
I think I'm either gonna go with a 400 grain or just keep my speed the same as the Trykon and bump up my KE and momentum with the 463grain arrow. we'll see........

You see....not spit worth of difference in K.E. as it truly matters in the real world. I would go 370 personally Your going to see that 26fps at the 3-D range I know that your pushing the envelope but only by a smidgen

I'm not worried about being a tad under 5gpp. Hoyt limbs are built like tanks...............and they always sell x-tras. I will say that the heavy arrows make the bow silent, where the light ones are loud, not as loud as the BK.......but not that far away.
I may set up the heavy arrows for the Hog hunt...I can always go lighter for 3D and deer.

Those are about the same numbers I get with my Tech 29. I can tell ya this much Skip, with the heavier arrow at 290fps, you will be VERY pleased at the hog hunt. And you won't have to wear earplugs either!! ;D BT keeps mentioning there's no difference between KE's measured at release and I couldn't agree more. But check your downrange KE comparison and you may find a whole different story. Another thing to remember is that the heavier arrow will not be as affected by the spring winds that will be accompanying you guys to PA. I like your thoughts on this subject. Go with the heavy for the hunt and the light for 3D where a miss or bad hit would merely costs you points and not cost you a hunt.
