nothing fancy but I take blue insulation foam and make a cube that is 2 feet square. I bind everything together with duct tape. I cant do that with my BK but it would be great for the trad equipment. I did look at doing this one time but the cost was too much for the material. I bought one sheet and doubled it to about your dimensions and blew right through it so I gave up on the idea.

i first tried the yellow jacket then the outdoor range bag target when i got my new 05 switchback.the yellow jacket did great.i launched 6 arrows an it stopped them great, then came the chore of trying to get the dad gum arrows out of the thing...lol. i ended up having to flip the target till the arrows were sticking straight up an putting my knee on top of it,used both hands to struggle my butt off just to get one arrow out.it took me about 12 minutes to get all 6 arrows out.i then bought an tired the range bag...i actually had to use my knife to cut the arrows out of that.i sent a mssg to Morrell and i was quite surprised that the gentleman responded back so quick with a couple of suggestions...they didnt work so i emailed him back with the results.without hesitation,he took my name an address an sent me a carbon six shooter at ZERO cost to me!!! that target works great.so far,i havent known or spoke with anyone that has used the yellow jacket, till this thread.i wonder why i had such a difficult time when others love the target?hmmm

I thought that Hmmm. What the heck are all these guys talking about-is there a break in period? I found it, it was when the thing was chewed up. It's all that carboard in them. Got one of those King targets from Keystone and it has taken a few shots and is showing some where. Most likely won't make it through this pre-season, but it's cheap. NO FIELD POINTS. Like pulling a shaft out of a yellow jacket. Just got Cabela's big bag for points. 40 bucks. I like those Rhinharts. Hard to justify the cost, maybe some day. I hear ya about how long they last.

The Yellow Jacket in my opinion should only be used with broadheads for the same reason you guys mentioned- arrow removal. I use a range bag for field points. Did you guys have the same removal problem with BH's that you did with FP's with the Yellow Jacket?

I never shot any but a few fp's to see if they were close to my bh. It was the card board in them. Once shot they had to be remove as they went in or you had to cut through the card board on the way out, backward. For anyone who wants to know what it's like punch a hole through a corrugated box spin the head and try and pull it out. Don't forget to add the friction of the foam to it. Sorry Michi, we part ways on this one. When you think about it though, shooting 3 razors into anything isn't going to last long unless they come up with an idea I've had for a while. Something like sand that would separate and then refill itself. Only problem is keeping the stuff in when there's a hole punch in the thing. Maybe something like an hour glass. Pours out and you just refill it occasionally replacing the package.

Cardboard prevented your FP's from coming out? Are you using the right sized FP's? Never had a problem with that but the friction of the arrow into the foam with a FP would "melt" the material causing the arrow to be hard to remove. My Yellow Jacket is all foam on two sides as well. Oh wel, I guess it's a personal opinion. But I've shot about 12 different targets with BH's and the Yellow Jacket has been the best for me. Especially considering I only paid $35 for it. The Block and the Black Hole are great for FP's but will be done in one season of BH's. The bags are great for FP's and will last forever if that's all you use on them. But for BH's, I'd challenge anyone to find a better deal on a target that lasts as long as the Yellow Jacket.
