On a happier note.....look what I found at an estate sale this weekend! MAkita 12" planer with stand, and about a 100 board ft. of Cherry, ash and yellow birch! mostly cherry and at $1.00 per ft.(that's Canadian dollars guys!) Also a couple of sticks of tiger wood! Now I gotta make some paddles, turkey calls, bows, snowshoes etc. just to pass the time....

If you're making paddles, I may be interested in one for my boat as an emergency device in case I ever have motor troubles. Nothing extravagant only practical.

Trying to figure what shipping would cost. I'd also think that the paddle would be best served by a lightweight wood. Give me an idea of what your cost would be and then we could go from there. Probably could get one at WalMart pretty cheap but I figure it'd be nice to help out a member if I can.
