Thats initially what I thought and I think that you and I share more in common than I would like
Truth is that I should never ever ever shoot beyond my flat flight range unless it's on a 3-D course
In fact....thats the game plan I plan to follow from here on out
Why?.....
Because I tend to rush longer shots because I am brain damaged
Foolish as it may sound....I rush the farther away the target is
I cant break myself of it and I am old enough in the sport to have figured that out by now
I is what I is and you are what you are
How to work around it?.....shoot within the capability of my bow as it pertains to range
I do the same thing with my recurve because my range embodies both penetration and flight by mere coincidence.
And I except that fact and do well with it.
The compound is my problem because I know it is very effective out past 70 yards and thats the problem.....it is better than I ;D
That is to say....I have more faith in my bow than I do myself as distance begins to add and it's simply because , once I commit , I am in fear that at any moment , the deer may move farther away
It's really a matter of ignorance and arrogance on my part but I will forget all of that which I know about myself as soon as I begin drawing back
SO ..... perhaps you and I need to find that comfort zone which allows us not to react to the potential of a situation
I know that I have never blown a shot inside of my flat flight
I had a deer escape me for the first time this year but I am not even considering that it was me because it wasn't
I dont care what the facts are
Thats confidence SO.....this is why I was asking about the flat flight of your bow....because knowing that information (for whatever the distance may be) is knowing that you cannot miss at that range.
You cannot! .... it is just that simple. You can error but you cannot miss within the range
Increase the range and increase the opportunity's when using this guideline.
Next we have to insure that you cannot error
That is why I asked about the No-Peep.
In order to have the reticle aligned , you cannot be off your anchor or if you are torquing the bow.
When used properly , you can anchor incorrectly and add torque to compensate while still hitting your mark
(Another item which is easier to use is the hindsight.)
I have friends who wear an eye patch in your situation and they are super shooters....since employing the patch
Dont discount this...try it.....2 eye's is not the best for 100% of the people out there
(I am quick to suggest both eye's open but some people actually do far better with 1 eye open.
Play with these three things and I can assure you that you will increase your kills many many times over.
Also....I have never in my life seen a forum with so many helpful people willing and wanting to share in hopes that they can simply help.
Keep an open mind and sort through what works
for youI would love to have us both here next year posting no strikes at the end of the game
