You are standing where the camera man is standing and your guide is on the backside of the hill, behind a bluff and out of dangers way. He has given you the all clear for your shot if you choose to take it.

I'm thinking that is a marginal shot due to the lighting. I would draw on this animal and if I could pick the spot under those lighting conditions I would take the shot.

O.K.....let me throw you this curve ball..... Can you tell which way the Bear is facing by looking at which forward leg is on the far left? If so...which leg is it?....left or right?

I missed that in the pic I believe I would have seen it better in real life.

Too hard to tell, it's like one of those trick pics. I would say that it is not the ideal shot due to the fact that I am not sure of what is beyond my target. Also, that bear is above me, and close...not sure I would want to chance a charge either.

Looks to me like the left leg is forward and the right leg is in the air. I like the quartering angle. The lighting sucks. Hard call to make. Hopefully in a real situation things would be a bit clearer, or you could wait the bear out. If in fact it is the left leg forward ,and I could tell that for sure, I think this might be a shot I would take. OK, let me have it...lol

I can't be sure which way he is quartering but I never shoot over a ridge no matter what. So, no shot.
