From another forum, this thread got highjacked bigtime. www.hunting.net/forum/tm.aspx?m=2679900&mpage=1&key=Apparently a guy killed an elephant and a cape buffalo with a PSE X-Force set at 80lb. The arrow was a Speed Pro with a Zwickey 2 blade head, total weight 325gr. Shot on the elephant was almost a passthru. I guess the KE help this hunter out(115lbs).

wow , thats one animal I wouldnt have any need to hunt. Can you even eat elephant? From what I read, elephant is indeed good to eat. "Elephants In Western societies, elephants have often been associated with circuses and used for entertaining purposes. However, in Central and West Africa, elephants are hunted for their meat.[citation needed] Some people in Thailand also believe that eating elephant meat improves their sex lives and elephants are sometimes hunted specifically for this.[33][34] Judaism prohibits the consumption of elephant meat as an unfit [for consumption] land animal, (similarly to the prohibition on camel meat) as does Islam." wikipedia strikes again!

I was interested in getting those Speed Pro arrows, but I didn't 'cause of different reviews that they weren't good, ... that they cracked /shatter when they hit each other while shooting them at a target. They may shatter, but now it's proven that they can kill an elephant and almost pass through them. Go figure!

What I can't get over is that the hunter got those Zwickey heads to fly right at 400ft/sec. It makes me want to get some Speed Pro's and screw on some Zwickeys. Works for him

A buddy of mine shot an elephant and said after he killed it a bunch of villiges showed up and hacked the thing to peices in just a few hours! To them it is a matter of survival. They get the meat, they get the chance to sell soveniers, some get payed as trackers and elephants can destroy crops and villeges. they need to be controlled just like any animal. look at what damage an over population of deer can do! Just think of too many elephants! I was talking to my taxi and he was saying that the huge price has to due with being able to export the ivory and such. He said he has clients that are going to countries where exportation is illegal and hunting elephants for 5K. they just can't bring anything home. Some of them are finding places to store the ivory in hopes that soon they will be able to export.
