Thats why I did the 80 yards last year. Any air disturbance at all ( even in a seemingly perfect head ) will show up after the arrow is well into it's point of descent.
There were only two heads that made the target as I remember .... that tells you alot about how good all the ones were that hit low (they all hit in relatively the same area for height) and just what was hidden inside the ones that stuck the bulls eye.
I don't know for the life of me how Spiker's turbo's are hitting so far off the mark at 100 yards. Alot of people have been drilling targets at 80 with them while all the rest ( that have reported in )have matched the results of the '06 shootout.

The BB's and Montecs as well as the Stingers all seem to be fairly accirate so I would assume by law of averages that the Turbo is the culprit here. FP's are hitting with the other three mentioned. And the results have been consistent when talking to Spike about these findings.

I have shot my Turbos out to 80yds and they hit as close to a FP as i am capable of getting at that range. within an inch or two for sure. The montecs consistantly track true to about 40yds and then start walking left on me as the distance gets longer. It may have to do with the arrow weight or spine though. all the other haeds I shot last year tracked true well beyond that

At this point , Spikers groups are to wild to glean much. It'll come and we will see what happens. I will do a couple of 100 yard shots today and post pics

Is it possiblle to get two seperate but good tunes out of two different bows?? I would think so. Speeds are different, cams are different, power stroke different, strings different. Add different shafts and fletches to the equation, who's to say if one is right and not the other? Is it possible that both bows tune differently? Just curious. Seems to me that it is logically possible. I'd love to see more than just the Turbo's and Montecs BT. You got 14 dz of those shafts, go for it!! ;D ;D

Yeah right!
The walking back and forth was bad enough for 2 heads
I agree with you Michi .... two heads could and do tune differently for any bow and shooter. I have seen bows that were out of tune that would drive tacks and have seen Pro's who put their cams out of time as well as their limbs who are far better than the average Pro. I run my cams out of time to add float to the arrows and cant shoot 4 arrows at a time but throw on broadheads and I could shoot 20 safely ;D
This is why I always shoot a passing head with the newest test head ... to make sure that the tune is matched.

Dude..are you hitting those bullseyes at 100?...wow! I'm going to pull some new ,out of the package Turbos next time, mine might have seen the end of their usefulness. My groups were wild, granted, but with 5 different broadheads. I can't believe how badly the Montecs flew for you, when they aced for me. Your a better shot, so I know those heads planed.. I just went out and got some feathers so I'll be doing it again this weekend, maybe with skip? I'll shoot groups of three same heads this time to get a better read. Wait...could it be that because you use a straight fletch that the Turbos were on track, and the Montecs not? I use a 1 degree left offset (with the Turbo blades set to the left as well)..you think? If you look at your 3rd shot with the Turbo...it's a carbon copy of my 6th shot with the Montec. Also your Montec fell out the same way bottom left that my Turbo did.

I use a 1 degree left offset (with the Turbo blades set to the left as well)..you think? At that distance?..... absolute possibility If a had my fletch canted one way I would be running my blade in the opposite direction Never mind what they say .... If your putting that much spin on an arrow your likely to drive it right in the direction of the spin. Slow it down by switching those blade to the right. Fitzgerald will not shoot any head with more than 1/2 rotation on the shaft at 20 yards. He was good enough to convince me to listen up when he told me that.
