Generaly runs just over 100 dollars and the spool alone is worth $45- 50.

I have looked into it. I am planning on getting a real rig by spring. Turns out my old one was kinda dangerous

I would turn it down if your above 60 though. Perfect compound weight seem to be 50 - 55#

I have a reel like this one on my recurve and it works great. It would work on a compound too.

I use a roller rest like this, on both my bows.

The most important part is to make sure you have an arrow with a safty slide.
As to the weight, just shoot whatever you are comfortable with. My recurve is 50#'s and my compound is 72#'s. your 57#'s would be fine.

I've got my AMS retriever reel, courtesy of skip, bought some bowfishing arrows w/safety slides, got my WB bowfishing arrow replacement biscuit, but my bow is set at 62#....good? Allright, when are we on?!!!
