It's always a matter of where the area of impact is. I have pass through once with a 50# bow and never with a 60# bow. Go figure.

I think that it takes a lot more concentration on the target to shoot a recurve True. That definetly bleeds over to the compound though , so IMO it's a great practice bow during the summer months

After shooting the recurve for an while I picked up the compound to shoot and it felt like it weighed an ton. That's exactly the way it feels The recurve really becomes an extension of the arm after awhile

So everyone feels that shooting a recurve improves shooting ability? Tracey compound shooting has improved greatly since she started shooting her recurve last week.

I am hoping that it will improve my compound shooting too.

No doubt about it. I have often recommended getting a cheap bow from ebay just for building the back/shoulder muscles. Generally the people that do that end up wanting to shoot the stick and often times will start hunting with it as well. There really is no greater satisfaction than taking any animal with a simple stick and string

My shoooting will have to improve quite a bit before I take the stick and string hunting but I am not ruling hunting with it out. Will probably try it on rabbits this year.
