This is a great crock pot recipe. Sweet and Sour Venision Stew 01. 1 jar (12 ounces) chili sauce 02. 1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar 03. 1 1/2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice 04. 1/4 to 1/2 cup beef broth 05. 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard 06. 1/4 teaspoon Paprika 07. 1/2 teaspoon salt 08. 1/2 teaspoon pepper 09. 1 garlic clove minced 10. 1 onion chopped 11. 2 large carrots, cut inti 1/2 inch slices (or chopped baby carrots) 12. 1 - 2 lbs. Venison stew meat The best thing about crockpot cooking is that you just put everything in the pot, stir, set to high, and let cook for 8 hours, stirring every hour. I've found that if it gets too sweet, add some pepper. If it gets too thin, add some flour, too thick, more broth.

I thought it was great, as did my wife and 15-year-old. My 11-year-old thought it was a tad too sweet. I made enough for 2 meals, but there was hardly any left.

Just got a replacement crock pot...will try this Thanks Red No thanks to me...it was Spiker's recipe. I did take the liberty of adding corn and Crimini (Italian brown) mushrooms to mine.
