I shot the Alpha Burner and the Destroyer side by side. The AB has a rough draw cycle compared to the Destroyer and was 12 fps slower.

That's something I'm wanting to try also, the Destroyer. There's a place out West (closed until the 4th) that said they had it in the shop and would let me shoot it until I couldn't shoot it anymore if I wanted to ... they just have to be opened so that I can come by and shoot it. LOL Who knows, I might decide it's the one as soon as I pull one back. I'm certainly going to give it a shot.

I like the cam & 1/2 because (to me) it feels like a cam with a wide peak.

I had the 2 bows setup identically, same weight, same arrow, etc.. With the AB it was all I could do to pull back the 58 lbs. The destroyer pulled back with ease. With the AB, it was very difficult to hold for much time but I could hold the Destroyer quite easily. I love the cam 1/2's and have never cared for the spiral cams, to aggressive for me.
I am pretty lucky with the shop we have, they actually setup 7 or 8 different bows for me and I started shooting and eliminating down to these 2. The draw cycle was the largest reason I went with the Destroyer but the final reason was the speed difference between the two. I have never been one to even worry about fps because I never figured I would get over 245 but Bowtech blew those figures out of the water!!!!!

That's interesting that you thought the AB was such a harsh draw. I have not shot the Destroyer but thought the draw on the AB was very smooth for a speed bow. Actually, I thought it was the best drawing and shooting speed bow I've shot. Nothing at all like the 82nd, 101st, Monster, X-Force, etc.. There was a decernable difference between the spiral cams and a cam and a half plus, but overall I liked them. The one I shot was 29" @ 60# with 319 grain arrow, shot it through the chrono at 312. Always interesting to see how different bow, cams, etc. feel and fit different people

I went and shot the Destroyer today. Both the 340 and the 350. Neither of them were Demo bows, and didn't have anything other than an arrow rest but I was still able to draw them and fire them. Originally I didn't see them, because I was helping my sister to try and find a bow that she might like trying as she's never tried shooting a normal bow. The 26th she tried to pull my 70 lb bow back after I told her it was harder than it sounds. Today she tried one more her size and LOVED IT!!! She's hooked. LOL Back to the Destroyer .... I shot the 350 first, because it's the one that the guy had in his hands after bringing in from the shop area. Apparently they had just got them in, and nobody had even shot it yet. I will be absolutely frank here ... I knew I wouldn't hit squat in regards to pattern with no sights. To be honest, I didn't give 2 rat turds about that. I wanted to feel the thing. Pull it back from the start, and let one loose. The man at the shop hooked me up with something I could do just that with. The 350 was a MUCH shorter draw than I would ever personally shoot ... but it did let me have an idea as to what it felt like ..... and it felt about like the Z7 from Mathews ... but a little smoother, personally speaking. Not quite the DXT, but it was also MUCH faster than the DXT. I didn't put it on a chrono ... if it comes down to that, then I'll worry about it, right now I'm going for feel. The 340 was about my draw length ... maybe slightly long, but nothing I couldn't handle. It felt good ... The draw was not even close to being harsh. Going from the bow I currently shoot to these top of the line bows I feel like I'm pulling about 100 lbs on my current bow. They draw so much smoother than my bow it's not even funny. I'll say this about the Destroyer, if you're not seriously looking for a bow then don't bother touching it, because I guarantee you'll want one. LOL I had no Robin Hood moments, nor did I expect any but it was a joy to shoot such a fine bow. Right now, I'd have to say it's at the top of my list. I compared this draw to that of the Maxxis 31 with the cam and 1/2 ... the draw on the Destroyer was FAR smoother. For whatever reason, it was truely smoother which I have to admit shocked me. I didn't think a double cam bow would draw like it did. The Monster certainly doesn't draw anything like this bow ... There's still 3 bows I'm wanting to shoot before making my final decision. The AB would be nice to try, the Alpha Max, and the Bear Attack. The AB and Bear Attack are seemingly a ghost but I hope to find one sometime at the start of the year, and the Alpha Max is at a shop I frequent ... they're just closed until the 4th (out of town)

There's a LOT of flaming in that thread, but something to look into.

Do you have an Elite dealer anywhere near you? The new Judge has peeked my interest.
