Now that you have all seen proof of what is possible in a few short months (as it pertains to the Skipmaster) , is there anyone who is going to give it a go this year Now I know that the first thing which comes to mind is....what if I were on a stand and a huge buck came in just out of range Well I cant fault you for the facts of the matter but the same thing happens with the compound as well All you have to do to avoid this problem is to adjust your ambush point So.....now that we have this problem addressed Who is going to give it a go?

I've been giving this some thought for the last few years (especially since I met you Kris ) and I think I may end up giving it a go this summer. All depends on the finances of course.

Ebay is the home of the low price recurve and you can use the same arrows that you currently use perhaps.

Expect a phone call when and if I ever decide to go the Trad route.

I urge everyone to at least try it. Shooting that buck with the compound would have been cool, but with the recurve I was nearly reduced to tears. It was that special. I for one will be hunting with the longbow and my grandfathers 70# recurve next year, as well as the compound. It may result in less deer on the ground but they will be more special. I also am at the point where if the deer is less than 25yds i feel as confident with it as the compound.

I want to hunt with recurve, but.... I am afraid that buck of a lifetime will be 30 yards out. I can adjust my stand but you can't predict everything. I am hoping to make a bow, then if I tag out with compound those does will have a taste of traditional. From what I hear I will be a trad hunter rest of life but I just can't seem to bring myself to do it.

I know hunting isn't about the kill but it just hurts to see the big ones walk out of range. I want to want to hunt with trad but I can't bring myself to do it.

LOL!..........I can understand that but I would suggest trying the act of shooting first and then small game hunting second. Trust me on this! There can come a time when you will be able to take a squirrel off a tree at 40 yards with a recurve/longbow and once you start seeing yourself doing that.....you wont worry about taking it out after a deer It took 2 years but on the third year I didn't even consider which bow I was going to take. I took the recurve just because it was what I had been shooting the most often.

I had every intention of trying traditional last year. But with the tendonitis in my left elbow and bicep and after shooting Kris's bow a couple of times I knew my arm would not allow it. So far my arm healed pretty well. But buying trad equipment this year is low on my priority list. Would love to give it an honest try though.
Looking for donations, lol. ;D
