340 fps at 28" at 63? Holy cow I wish #63. I'm set at 70# with th KC. It makes the Vulcan seem like a rubber band afterwards.

You know....you could drop it to 66# and still be at 325...which is the magic number.

I like to play with these bows but to be honest, I generally work around a 100% all out, no holds barred approach to building speed bows. Alot of energy that I get can be eliminated with items that are attached to the string. People that like my work are dedicated to speed alone and are willing to put up with the increased noise that is enevetable....not to speak of the added wrench time it takes to keep things as they need to be.
Honestly, if you are shooting a naked string...you are looking at perhaps a 5-25 fps increase from the wrench. The problem is....you never know what it is going to be until you have the time and money invested.
If you want, I can give it a go but you are going to be adding some parts money for a new winners choice string right off the bat.
Changing the string will give you 10-15fps normally. Timing the cams, going to IBO (if you are not already) Adjusting FOC to 8-10%, etc. may get another 15-20 (based on a current 6GPP)
Generally I can get 40fps out of any rig just by building on a IBO standard...which most anyone can do.

It's funny you mention the noise. This bow actually got quieter, as it got faster, and in better tune. I would say that it is maybe a touch quieter than the Vulcan now, with nothing on the string except speed nocks, and a string loop. The astonishing thing I found out today was what you were telling me about raising the rest so the arrow is slightly high of 90 degrees. I never set my bow like that, but I tried it today, and the Nightmares are zinging with the fps out to 35...really odd, but I like it. I'll have to settle on a tune for Fri. Opening day...I think I'll see how a Turkey likes a 340 fps Spitfire..

When you exceed 325...you can start doing all kinds of odd stuff which you never ever could get away with at say, 280 or even 300.

I have been fine tuning this bow, and yesterday, without thinking shot an 85gr. Stinger at my fp bag, or should I say "Double FP Bag". It's two bag targets duct taped together so nothing can get through it. Wrong! Complete passthrough at 340fps. WOW.

I have never been happy with the finish in this bow, and tried to straighten it out back when I got it, with APA. Unfortunately, they kind of blew me off, so I thought, and the matter went unresolved. Since then, I have been taking pot shots at them on AT, whenever they announce a new bow, or product, I would chime in with a comment about how I hope that their finish has improved. This always gets a few ATers asking them if the finish is good or not. So, the other day I fired off another comment after their rep was assuring people that thier finishes were perfect, and that they had had a problem in the past. So, I asked if they would take my bow back and re dip it now that they had it figured out. And....they are taking it back, and making sure that it comes back perfect! I talked to the owners wife yesterday, and she assured me that it was a problem with their computers (reason for not following up on this back when). I sent it back today, so maybe in a month , or so, I'll have it back, and sparkling. Here's a group that I shot with it right before stripping it down to send back. I was having a ton of trouble tuning it, only to find out that the upper limb was not seated properly in the limb pocket...hence the machine gun holes everywhere. But, of course, after all the hard work..oh well, check this out:
