Good luck Spiker. Hope you find what you're seeking. The fit and finish surprises me a little with an APA from all I've read, but I've never seen one in person. Look at the pics in the past posts, and tell me what you think snood....its real grainy, and not smooth. All those white dots are rough, and look to be bare. I showed the pics to an APA dealer that I met on AT, and he said that he hadn't seen that poor of a finish from them before either. I think Jason Balazs...the review guy...also mentioned the finish wasn't as good as previous years when he reviewed last years Viper. But, the bottom line is that this bow is smoking without any pre stress, short cabling...etc...heck...after I figure out how to super tune it, I'm sure it will be faster. It has a super smooth draw..you just can't believe it's a speed bow...no hump to pull over...I can draw 70# easy..that's crazy. It releases with zero shock, and about as much noise as the Vulcan. I put an arrow through two bag targets, and into my basement wall last week...holy crap...it scared my wife half to death...neither of us had ever seen this before. I almost am coming to terms with the fact that the finish isn't perfect because I remember when the Vulcan got it's first scratch..I was pissed...no need to worry about this finish..lol Anyway, I put a call into the owner, and he hasn't gotten back to me...prob saw the commotion on AT.. ;D Too bad..when you sell publicly, you had better be prepared to deal with the feedback publicly....none of this PM nonsense. Their rep didn't even chime in..I had that dealer from NE offer to tune the bow for free because he was upset that I was having trouble, and he loves these bows. I might just take him up on it, he says he knows these bows well enough to get the very most out of them at spec. I'm sure BT will get his hands on it too, so I'm pretty sure I won't have any issues that I can't deal with. Time will tell.

Well, I suppose when you contract with a dipper, I guess it could be hard to switch it up in the middle of season. Still they should make it right. However, like you imply, who cares how it looks if you plan on hunting with it and when it shoots like that! Sounds like a demon!

All I've been doing is twisting cables, string, tweaking..adjusting cam lean...etc.. I have it averaging 333 fps, with Nightmares hitting with fps....I'm never satisfied, so I expect to keep messing with it until I figure out the cable system to a tee.

That is a whole lot better than the first numbers it was putting out. It is good to see you are happy with your bow and the speed is awesome with the draw cycle you described. I do like those Nightmare heads and they are now on all my arrows.

That was perhaps the longest phone call I have ever been part of ;D My opinion....stash the Nightmares for use with the Vulcan and pick up some spitfires for this rig. Hold close to the shoulder if you want....no whitetail is gonna survive a collision with this rig
