More pics... Intiial tuning tells me I can use 500 spine carbons with 300grains up front at 29.5"....but I'm not sure I have it dialed in yet. There seems to be some noise on release which could be the shaft slapping the riser or shelf. I think the nock point may not be correct. but the arrows seem to impact pretty well. After about an hour of playing around this is a reasonably common group at 15 yards. Any suggestions on tuning would be helpful here guys...nock height etc.? I can't say enough good things about JD LUND and Whisperstik Bows. He looked after me very well and he builds an awesome bow to say the least. Thank You JD! :clapper: ! :notworthy: :notworthy:

That is an amazing looking bow! If you get a chance to post up a pic of those tips, that would be great too. Bone or antler? That beauty has some great, graceful lines. I love it!
As far as the slap sound, are you shooting feathers, using a brace/arm guard? Notice any unusual marks on the riser or arrows or fletch? Looks like you've got a flemish string there (my personal choice as well), so I would not think it would be coming from the string loop area, but it could; might try some moleskin there under the string where it lay against the limbs.

WOW. That was well worth the wait I would say Eastern. I can't wait to get a close up personal look at it on Tuesday at the club.

Snood, those are elk antler tips with black phenolic under that. They're really something. There doesn't appear to be any marks on the riser. I raised the brace height some and it quieted down some . I may do the moleskin and try that. Yup shooting feathers all the way. I use an armgaurd, but I don't think I'm slapping that. I'd notice I think. The grip takes a bit of getting used to, but I like it alot! Thanks for the comments Snood.

Thanks for the pic EH. That is some fine, fine work there. I've been getting the itch for a simple, recurve with all osage riser and limbs that was not a selfbow; maybe with just a strip of ebony down the riser and on the tips. I may have to see if JD would be willing to do it at some point.

A real beauty, EH!!! I really like those limbs. Glad you checked the brace height, that would have been my suggestion. Best of luck with it this season.
