Firenock have just got its first off production sample for Firenock v2.0c and after a whole afternoon of shooting with Larry at Wolf Hollow Archery, we concluded that we got a winner. Below is the link to see the real deal and all the details. We shall try to get some in very soon so you all can get to use it. We shall post the best position to mount the actuator as soon as we got most of the pictures for the current offering for the current manufacturers. www.firenock.com/products.html#Firenock%20v2.0cBy the way, we got them in RED as standard Firenock color. We just use green for photo since it looked different and sort of nicer looking on the web pages.

Nice looking deal there. I personally do better with yellow since I am color blind and that's just the most visible color for me.

Is it available with a flat nock?? HH Base on our research, a flat nock is not safe, thus WE WILL NOT MAKE ONE. So, if anyone want to use Firenock, it will be a half and half moon only. A side note, anyone can advice us on if we at Firenock should sell the Crossbow bolt without the nock so it is easier for you to put the Firenock in a set of 6 bolts?

I have an Excalibur crossbow which requires the use of a flat nock. The Tenpoint Crossbows also require a flat nock. I can't imagine what led you to the conclusion that it was not safe. Different crossbows require different nocks.
That being said I applaud you and Firenock for not making and selling a product that you feel is unsafe. Unfortunately today most companies just chase the dollar and don't care if a product is inferior or downright dangerous.

Different crossbows require different nocks. HH Hi HH, In most cases, crossbow that said it need a flat nock can use a half moon. The reason Firenock consider a flat nock unsafe is that if you look at some crossbow, (not used in US) they do not have all the safety feature we have here the US. That top control slot is not used in some. Thus, the only way that the arrow is absolutely guarantee to ride on the string is by means of a half moon, it is possible to dry fire a cross bow in those cases. A flat nock have a tendency to let the string jump above it. Another point, by using a half moon nock, the string to nock contact surface is so much more reliable and better in energy transfered. A flat nock demand that the string have to ride on the edges of the nock, thus the energy transfer IMHO is not as well, and put quite a bit of stress on the string. And so far, with the TenPoint crossbow which say it need a flat nock. the Firenock v2.0c shots well in it. Since I am not an expert in this area, please advice me on which model and why you think it may not work so I can look into it.

I am no expert either. I have hunted archery for many years but this is my first year with the Xbow. From what I understand the difference is in the way the claw holds the string. If the claw comes down from the top the manufactures use a flat nock. If the claw comes up from below they use a moon nock.
Regardless, I shoot an Excalibur Exocet and they recommend a flat nock so that is what I will use.
