It will be to early to rattle anything and with this being a transition area whatever is likely to come will come.
I would have a Doe grunt call ..... not a bleat call in this area.
The only time you would have occasion to use it would be on stand 2 & 3.
Most times the Deer are going to be headed right to you so the most important thing is to be unseen.
Camo anywhere is important but here it is very important because the lay of the land will have deer looking right at you sometimes.
Face paint or a good head net are mandatory because they will pick right up on that white face
Also a pair of light cotton gloves (black) suck as the ones you can get in the local store for light work.
Don not get the ones with that rubber junk on them
You need smooth material so that the bow will slide easily within your hand on those angle shots.
You will most likely be shooting from a sitting position in stands 1 & 3 and the angles can be semi - steep so practice shooting in this way.
shot angles for stand 1 are 90 degrees ( 9 O'Clock )to 45 degree's @ 6 O'Clock upward
Stand 2 will be 15 to 50 degree's up from the 6 O'Clock position working upward
Stand 2 will always give you the opportunity to stand and the angle will be 30 degree's from the 6 O'Clock upward Position.
As skipmaster points out....layers.
Don't plan on stripping off those layers on stand
These deer move all day and will see you long before you see them if you start moving around
If there is going to be a big swing in temps just plan on being cold for a couple of hours and comfortable the rest of the day.
Back to movement....if you are going to eat on stand then lay everything out before first light ..... if you dont have to dig for it then you'll have less movement when it's time
When you move , move dead man slow ..... these deer will stand and look at you from 40 yards out on the lawn but as soon as you do anything that draws their attention they will never close that gap
These deer are pretty educated and they will break you pretty quick if you help them
By the same token....draw when they have their head behind a tree or something.
Any mature deer here will evaporate into smoke and be gone if they see movement from above
You are going to get opportunity's but you are going to have to be like a cat to get the shots.
Keep that in mind when the time comes.
By the same token...these deer are on the move when they come past these stands so dont wait for the perfect opportunity or they be gone by the time you see it ;D
This is an ambush area so as far as needing anything , all you need is the ability to act like a dead man and look like a tree
