I haven't tried one but the main con I have is that the more crap I put on the bow, the heavier it is and the more there is to go wrong. Crap good the more crap the better on my bow ;D Tracey Used to call me the gadget man. anything new that came out I just had to try it

How often to do you practice? during season? off season? ever take a break?? I practiced real hard just before season and took at least 10 shots a day during season, when this season ended, I stopped shooting consistently as I had concerns about bow (once bitten twice shy) but now that I have a new one, going to get it sighted in hopefully this weekend and will shoot 2 or 3 times a week or as my schedule allows till spring then as much as time allows (works demands much time)

I practice 3 to 4 times a week through the summer and season. Less in the winter depending on the weather and work.

End of December through the end of April work just flat kills me on shooting, and the weather doesn't help. I shoot as much as I can, but it is just enough to keep me sane; barely. Maybe I get in an hour session, 2 days a week right now. 3 days if it is an exceptional week. April to December I shoot 5-6 days, sometimes I even get in two sessions a day. That's mixing it up with my longbow too.

Tell me more What didnt work .... why? I can't say exactly, but I think it has to do with my inability to chew gum and walk at the same time. As far as string suppressors, I do use them. I do notice a difference in noise with them and they have been a benefit when shooting short brace height bows I've had them on. I find that I can take all string silencers off my string when I use a suppressor and usually have the same effect as if I had the silencers on the string. I should note, I do not set them up like you are supposed to. They suggest setting them up with the stopper not touching the string and with no more than 1/8th inch between the stopper and the string. (At least that is what my instructions said with my old STS; if they've changed I don't know about it.) What I do is loosen the screws on the rod, turn the bow so the string is completely horizontal to the ground and let the weight of the stopper rest on the string. This is where I lock it down. When I did it the way they instructed, I found there was a small "slap" sound when I didn't use it in conjunction with string silencers. When I used my method, there was no slap sound and I could leave the silencers off. You're right about having to play around with position of the stopper until you find that "sweetspot" on the string. I was about to return my STS until I started playing with the positioning. Mine is currently just touching the string.

Anybody have a bow they wish they did not get rid of? I love my current bow to death, but I really miss my old Bowtech Blacknight. Old injuries on the right shoulder make it just about impossible for me to shoot righthanded. I hope the current owner's treating her right Or at least put on new string on it (string's broke in the pic):

I only have the one compound so far. But I will probably won't sell it when I buy a new one.

I do shoot in the winter as well we have a target set up in the basement it's only 10 yards but it keeps the muscles working. Monday we will be checking out a new bow shop that has an indoor 3-D range out to 50 yards. we may start hitting that every other week or so if we like the place.

I see your from NW Ohio there use to be a nice shop in Montpillier haven't been there in like 10 years. They had a great 3-D range in the woods behind the shop. Is that close to you.

Here is another question for everyone. do you practice and hunt with the quiver on your compound or off. I do all of my shooting with it on that way the arrows are right there and ready.
