What about string silencers or kissers? How many people use them and what do you use? Small sized kisser button. No string silencers but I do have an STS mounted.

The way I shoot sometimes, I could swear I have a patch over both eyes. Sometimes I think I'd shoot better that way. TOTALLY instinctive ;D

Bare string and no silencers. I dont believe in that stuff myself and it robs performance.
The kisser is a no as well. I see a real positive for it but I instead use a extremely small peep which forces anchoring in the same spot every time.

I agree. I've tried the No Peep, the Bow Anchor sight, and a Yikes bow sight and I always go back to the peep. Peeps just works better for me. Tell me more What didnt work .... why?

Quieter, picked up a few fps as well. A big plus is it keeps your forearm and heavy clothing away from the string. I did serve the string where it hits the rubber stopper to prevent any damage to the string.

Lets get some input on the STS systems. I haven't heard alot of positives and a few negatives. I am tending to believe that this is due to the fact that nobody seems to post factual attributes but rather tend to post what they think they know. (LOL!) Seriously .... pro's and cons of using the STS (or similar) system on the compound.

I haven't tried one but the main con I have is that the more crap I put on the bow, the heavier it is and the more there is to go wrong.

I can't say exactly, but I think it has to do with my inability to chew gum and walk at the same time. As far as string suppressors, I do use them. I do notice a difference in noise with them and they have been a benefit when shooting short brace height bows I've had them on. I find that I can take all string silencers off my string when I use a suppressor and usually have the same effect as if I had the silencers on the string. I should note, I do not set them up like you are supposed to. They suggest setting them up with the stopper not touching the string and with no more than 1/8th inch between the stopper and the string. (At least that is what my instructions said with my old STS; if they've changed I don't know about it.) What I do is loosen the screws on the rod, turn the bow so the string is completely horizontal to the ground and let the weight of the stopper rest on the string. This is where I lock it down. When I did it the way they instructed, I found there was a small "slap" sound when I didn't use it in conjunction with string silencers. When I used my method, there was no slap sound and I could leave the silencers off.
