Also, too much "vodoo" involved. I've asked specifically what you would be paying for and no one actually tells you. The guys who have payed the money are not even exactly sure what was done. It's like going to the Mercedes dealership for the 15,000 mi service and getting charged $350.00 and the only thing you know for sure that was done is an oil change. Kind of like having your car "Simonized" or your dry cleaned suits "Martinized"...

Kind of like having your car "Simonized" or your dry cleaned suits "Martinized"... Martinized? Martinized was a patented dry cleaning process used quite some time ago (or maybe it still is used, I don't know, but I haven't seen it advertised in a while). It was advertised as something special they did to your laundry at the dry cleaners and charged a little extra for. No one could really tell that it was any better than regular dry cleaning and supposedly faster (1 hour dry cleaning). Their was a Seinfeld episode about it. Either my age is starting to show or I'm just a huge nerd for remembering it... ;D

Well, I hope he was going there for something else and just went to this pro-shop because he was going to be there anyway, but it doesn't sound that way. Or, perhaps he is an Elite dealer and they bought the bows there.

Typically if guys on forums are getting all gaga over something I just sit back and watch. My first experience with the guy was negative. Someone else (mention here before) was getting into string building and was catching a lot of heck from the crackers crowd over there. The comment that crackers was such a swell guy came up. My comment was that if he was he'd tell those guys to knock it off. I don't believe he ever did but the "new" guy now is on very good terms with him. I even mentioned it to him a few years latter and he didn't even remember the problem.
It's really nothing new. Archers are all to ready to be insulted as long as they can run with the "best" in the crowd. I'm continually amazed at what is accepted. Guys at Hoyt once told me they couldn't be bothered because they were to busy making great bows. Has chapped my hide ever sense.

I know just what you are saying and I am very sure everyone here does as well Funny you should mention Hoyt I wont go into it....I just had an experience myself which pretty much sums up the attitude you were faced with No matter....I don't depend on group think Pretty sure you don't either

You know what, I think that unless you are somebody important, as in someone that can do something for them, very few manufacturers really care about their customer base. That's why the small companies have such good service (in my experience), because at that level the customer really can do something for them. The big companies rely on the Pro Shop guys to do the selling, and servicing, and really dont want to be bothered otherwise.... Thats why I have my own press, arrow saw...etc.....I've had my share of dealing with the nonsense.... Should I start mentioning names? Nah, I'll leave that for another thread....
