Here is the story guys. I have had my Outback set at 62 pounds and decided to put it to 70. I am shooting better groups with it at 70 and it just seems to shoot a lot smoother at this poundage. Last year I shot the Grim Reaper 100 out of it and got good performance on a doe and coyote. So tonight while sitting in my chair I decided just out of curiosity to assemble some Muzzy 75gr to see what they do at the new 70 pound weight. I am freakin amazed. They were all within the 3 inch circle all the way out to 35 yards. Last year I tried the Muzzy 100 grain at the 62 pound weight and they were all three inches low and to the left. What has got me confused is that I am now at 290fps with the 75gr and they are flying like darts, and the 100grs were at 270fps and way off. This has got me all perplexed.

It may have to do with your spine being more "spot on" with your new draw weight and weight of the heads. Have you changed strings/cables since last year?......or moved your rest/nocking point? either was, I wouldn't complain about better performance!.........and I'd much rather shoot the muzzy over the reaper.

Only thing that has changed is the draw weight. I feel a lot better knowing my bow is in tune with the fixed. I like it

Most bows perform better at their top poundage. But I have to agree with Skip, it appears you have found your bow/arrow sweet spot. All bows have em. Congrats.

I testing the Muzzy line has a very real tendency to go low left. It's just the way it is with these heads but the tests are set up to find flaws which are set into the bow and arrows being shot. Once a Muzzy grabs air and enters it's decent , the tendency is to hook left. People who have seen the Muzzy hook don't forget it ....it's just crazy The 75 compared to the 100 will introduce lift to the front end and therefore eliminate some or all of the left side tracking. Another thing to consider is that your spine was stiffened when you went to the 75gr. and then weakened again by the X-tra 8# that you put on the bow. People often think in terms of a stiffer spine causing the arrow to impact left (on a right handed bow) but this only applies to bows that are shot with fingers or when the bow is not center shot. When a release is employed the arrows flex is up and down rather than around the bow/rest , if the arrow is centered. So.....In your case , if the tune was off to enable a low impact it would be as much or more-so now. This is why the tune of your bow (to me) seems to be fine and IMO all the fault laid at the expense of the head. My suggestion would be that if you really want to shoot 100gr. fixed heads and get the same great price as Muzzy , you should switch to the Wasp line of broadheads and stay with a ration of 1/1 or 1.5/1

I've shot and compared many, many broadheads (not as many as BT obviously) and the Muzzy's were the worst shooters of them all. This has always come as a bit of a surprise to me considering their loyal following. What I particularly didn't like about them is that I couldn't get a consistent flight path from them. Them seemed to duck and dive where they wanted. Before I said my bow was good or bad with broadheads, I'd shoot some Slick Tricks, Silver Flames or Bunker Busters to test it.

This has always come as a bit of a surprise to me considering their loyal following. The following is do in part to the fact that Muzzy gives a true bang for the buck...always have Also , when Muzzy hit the market they spent some coin in advertising and thats what always pays Muzzy also worked very well as designed .... couldn't do any better at the time But... times have changed Muzzys always flew good at the time they were introduced and throughout the 80's because bows were not fast by comparison to todays standards. Today there are still alot of people shooting 240 - 250fps and at those speeds and with a moderate weight arrow , you can make a Muzzy track pretty well. That being said...I test for the best heads .... not what can work in a given circumstance

To be honest if these heads fly this well I may just stay with the 75 gr and get after em. I don't like to tinker if it ain't broke. Thanks for all the replies fellas. I really appreciate it.
