Crossbows for all in Connecticut this fall. These are the new regs. It is nice to see that some of the ridiculous regs were removed. (b) Any crossbow and bolt combination to be used for hunting shall meet the following specifications: (1) The draw weight of the crossbow shall be not less than 125 pounds; (2) The crossbow shall have a permanent fixed rifle type stock, and a functional and/or fully operational mechanical safety device; (3) The bolt (arrow) length shall be not less than eighteen inches, excluding the broadhead; and (4) The broad head shall have two or more blades with a width not less than seven-eighths of an inch at the widest point. In addition, any crossbow in a drawn and cocked position with a bolt loaded in the crossbow shall be considered a loaded weapon. www.ct.gov/deep/lib/deep/public_notice_attachments/draft_regulations/finalhuntingregaug272013.pdf

Thats a good start, here in my state of Mo. you can only use a crossbow if'en yer disabled & have a Dr.'s order fer a permit. Unlike alot of states that allowed those at a certain age to use them. My Mrs. can't hunt wid hers even tho she be 66 yrs old cause she ain't disabled, what a crock of it!

Thats the easy part grab it by one end of the limb put it over your shouder and let the rest of it hang on your back. Another way is put a sling on it and carry it on your shoulder. I have no problem getting it to my blind just remember not to shoot it without an arrow on the rail ouch

Some mount the rear sling attachment on the side of the stock (think Mauser K98) so they can carry it under their arm.
Uncocked I carry it by the rail. cocked I usually carry it with my left hand on the left limb tip and my right hand on the wrist of the stock. None of my hunting weapons has a sling on them. I want them in my hands not on my shoulder when I am going through the woods.
