Going on my first hunt with a longbow in two weeks. Heading down to Southern Ohio after some feral hogs at DD Ranch. I'm pretty pumped and so is BT ;D. I'm shooting a 66" Wagner longbow, 50lbs at my 25.5" draw. 1816 aluminums with Simmons Interceptor BH's. Hopefully I can add to the traditional kill reports soon

Good luck with the hunt! Will you get to stalk at all, or will all the hunting be from blinds? Just curious! Do let us know how those Interceptor's do for you.

Gonna be blind the first time out. No need to put x-tra pressure on the newbie

Understand - but if the chance is there, take the newbie for at least one stalk on those hogs! It's just to much fun to pass on...
Also, what we have found is that the hogs can be a bit shy about coming in to the feeders. They get shot. Right? So we take stands and put them out on the main trails that lead in towards the feeders - or cross through the woods - and put some corn down below them along the trail. The pigs don't notice the stand so much and we have found that we get better shot oppotunities. If that is possible where you are going, you might give it a try as well.
Good luck!

Well life is always throwing us curve balls and this time is no different. Due to the fact that we have a home purchase this thursday and that home requires our attention a.s.a.p. .... We are putting the hunt on hold until we are moved in.
It will happen but for now it is on the back burner.

You know, will probably enjoy the hunt a lot more if you can go later and get caught up. Buying a new home is a big thing, a good hog hunt should be enjoyed without distractions! Let us know when you guys can get out, we'll be just as happy to hear about it then!
Good luck on the house buying, too!
