Want to try mechanicals this year. I hunt the vast midwest plains where wind is constantly a factor. Hoping that mechanicals will not drift as much in the wind as fixed heads. I'm a short draw archer so I can't produce large amounts of momentum and ke. Current bow gives me 240 fps with a 399 gr arrow. Thats 51 fpe and .425 slug feet of momentum. I was thinking along the lines of the Innerloc EXP 2 or 3 blade or NAP Shockwave. The NAP has a cut of 1.25" and three blades and the EXP is either a two or three blade and the width of cut can be adjusted down to 1.125" or up to 1.4375". Not interested in the Rage 40ke heads or the like.

My setup had 48lbs of KE at the time. Look into Rocket Steelheads.

The Rocket steelhead is a great head for you. LOL!.... I am sitting here, two feet from Doegirl and mentioned this question to her as I was typing. No great shock but a surprise that she also said the same thing Anyway... I am not a fan of the Rocket broadhead line but the wolverine and steelhead are the exceptions for me. You will not go wrong with the steelheads for the set up that you are shooting. Not guessing here.... I am serious... This is the perfect expandable for you

These heads are killers and if you look back at the old test you will see that they did very very well. I shot two deer with them and I was totally satisfied.

I am not a big mech fan, but the Steelheads are a great BH. I have a bunch of the original Steelheads which are all made in the US. The newer TR are good too, but made in China. The older Steelheads have a longer ferrule and slightly larger cutting diameter. I prefer the 125s, but either way they are bombproof and will give you great penetration.

He is like a walking library of info. I love my NAP Spitfires but I am not sure you have enough Ke for them. Bob

Really the only two I use but trying the Grave Digger this year as they tested well. They will still leave a good hole even if they didn't open up but there is really no chance of that happening.
