Interesting map, one thing I'd like to see is game animal population density, by species, overlaid on such a map. While the west may at first seem very inviting, we don't actually have as many critters to hunt per sq. mile either.Hence the low bag limits out here.Much lower than out east. Then you factor in things like most elk are generally found in half to two thirds of Colorado, combined with the fact they might up and move several miles at any given time.... Dunno just don't look like the whole book IMO, but interesting none the less. Ster

Maybe thats why the hunter density is what it is?. Pretty sure there are factors such as population levels and heritage that play heavily into it as well. NY and PA are two states that jump to mind which would act in just that way to up the numbers there.
