Spirit of the Bow is a DVD that I will probably replace in the future due to how much we play it. I bet it is played on average twice a day in this house.
I have others but this isn't a review of the DVD's but rather a commentary on the content of these DVD's.
I have complained for some time about the lack of soul that bowhunting has anymore in video and in general. These DVD's have brought back what was lost a long time ago, in these A typical trophy hunting video's you see put out by folks such as premos and drury.
The Brothers of the Bow productions focus on the lifestyle and mindset of the Bowhunters such as the Wensels, Fred Bear and many of the forefathers. I am seeing and hearing a modern return to the tradition of Bowhunting in these video's and IMO they cant make enough, soon enough.
In Spirit of the bow they are not selling products but they are selling idea's... which are worth far more than anything the manufacturers have to offer. Idea's like fun, morals, ethics and hunts that glorify the hunt rather than the kill.
Watching these DVD's reminds me of what I used to feel before I got caught up in the race to one up myself and my past accomplishments. These DVD's are just inspiring and fun to watch.
I would strongly suggest these Brothers of the Bow DVD's for anyone starting out or getting old. Classic Bowhunting and Bowhunters reloaded.
