My Dr will not give me a slip for a X-bow!! Pisses me off. I already have a new Excalibur.I told him I can shoot my z7 all summer but after sitting in a tree in Oct I can't pull it back if cold!!He said I have to have a permanent issue. Well at being 67 this month I can't get any younger and that is kinda permanent!!I hope the state passes the cross bow for everyone law!!Anyone know whats going on??

I'm not sure what is going on. I believe they are legal for everybody in the January season in zones 11 and 12. It may catch on in more of the state.
You could always find a more sympathetic doctor!

Greg is on the right track IMO but you have to drop the explanation IMO. I wouldn't go into so much detail or I would at least omit the summer part. Truth of the matter is that you cant shoot a compound during the deer season anymore in all truth... as you tell it. Just say that and leave it at that.

From the connecticut DEP website:
Use of Crossbows: Crossbows may only be used by physically disabled persons with a special permit or by persons hunting on Private Lands during the January bow season in Zones 11 and 12. Use of a crossbow for hunting under any other circumstances is prohibited.
