Well I did get a bit of inside information on the behind the scenes for this series but aside from that... I was convinced that it was a back door attack on hunting... to spur the anti's on but it seems that while I may be right (based on the content) it seems that the main characters aren't aware of this fact. Interesting to me how some people can be such tools Thoughts?.

The history channel just wants to capitalize on the success of Duck Dynasty. But yeah, a reality show about bowhunting the suburbs of Connecticut? No thanks

These guys hunt the same areas I do. They have been hunting here a while. The show could have been amazing but instead it just makes us all look like idiots. I know they are jumping on the duck dynasty, swamp people band wagon and I know that these "reality" shows are not reality. The difference is that those shows don't make any group of people look bad. This show uses fake interactions with land owners to show off the crappy attitudes of the "hunters". They shoot a bunch of small bucks and act like heroes, all the while making crappy shots and complaining about having to track them. While we all bust each others chops a bit, these guys take it too far. They show no respect to the animals they hunt and just use the venison as money, a way to barter. They won't even spend the money to butcher deer or do it themselves. It disgusts me and will do nothing more than turn the non hunting fence sitters against us and make it harder to get hunting permission. Not only in this area but all over the country.

Never seen it, never will. Sounds like a pretty bad mess though. Is there a web site? Might be interesting to see if they'd reply to some very direct questions...

The guy is over on the CT forum of bowsite telling everyone it's a great show, even though everyone had the same opinion as me. They probably have something over at the history channel website

Mike Andronaco and his hillbilly crew are doing more to hurt the image of hunting then anyone that comes to my mind, in recent history anyway. I suppose Tred Barta would give them a run for their money back in his prime but now-a-days?... I think these guys have a lock on it.
The Washington Times got it right when they wrote this.....
WASHINGTON, April 11, 2013 —With the phenomenal success of “Duck Dynasty” on “A&E,” it was just a matter of time before some creatively challenged reality show producer found a way to copy it. Tonight these efforts are revealed on the new “History Channel” show “Chasing Tail.”
Connecticut has some of the richest suburbs in America, but it’s also infested with white-tailed deer, which can spread Lyme disease and cause car accidents. Enter Mike Andronaco and his blue-collar buddies. Mike and his friends get permission from wealthy landowners to hunt on their massive properties. Mike and his guys keep the meat, and the town keeps its deer population manageable. HISTORY’s new series captures the culture clash when the arrows begin to fly. With ridiculous shows like “Swamp People” and “Ax Men” already on “History Channel,” it should come as no surprise that a show about hunting deer would be an obvious choice for the network. Despite recent successes with quality programming like “The Hatfields and McCoys,” “The Bible” and “Vikings,” the network has reverted back to airing white men acting silly. The only difference is the prey. Instead of spending an hour blowing the brains out of alligators, “Chasing Tail” focuses on hunting for trophy bucks in the urban sprawl of aristocratic Connecticut. But in the last sentence of the show’s description lies the real goal of the show; “to capture the culture clash when the arrows begin to fly.” The producers of the show most likely could care less about reducing the population of white-tailed deer and more about capturing the “culture clash” for its viewers. Just because it isn’t Hollywood doesn’t mean the rules are any different. Noteriety always sells better than fame.
In a video promo for the show one of the bow hunters says, “we would never ever shoot an arrow when there’s people around, now get the hell out of here so I can shoot something.” This pretty much sums up the premise of the show. Whether or not the much anticipated clash of cultures ever happens isn’t revealed in any of the three promos. But given the show’s limited buildup and five episode run, one can probably asssume it doesn’t. From watching the promos one thing can be deduced though. Roughing it in Connecticutt is nothing like roughing it anywhere else in the country. The hunters are comfortably ensconced in a relative’s barn, complete with microwave, coffee maker, boot dryer and TV. To call it a “hunting camp” is almost as laughable as the show itself. We can only hope “History Channel” puts this show in the file labeled “too ridiculous to air” and gets back to quality programming about actual history. If it doesn’t, maybe the network’s past premise of airing one Hitler show after another doesn’t look that bad afterall.
