Still trying to get my head around some fletching issues. In firearms the rate of twist is critical to stability and is related to length of bullet. Is there an optimum fletch angle - I have seen from 1 deg to 6 deg (and yes BT, I know you like 0 deg )

There is an optimum rate but again....it can be very subjective. I never gave it any thought until I heard Fitzgerald mention that he didn't like an arrow to make over 1 turn for every ten yards. I frigged around and tried to see what worked best based on a rotation basis and found that there wasn't a magic bullet but indeed , Fitzgerald's observations were pretty much right on. I personally want more spin for my traditional arrows and use nearly every bit of adjustment that I have afforded me on the Grayling jig. As you pointed out...straight for modern
