Took yesterday off to figure things out.Took my old bow
to the shop and had Bill split the string and re-dew the
peep. I think we finally have it.I changed sights and
spent the day getting it ready for today.I was at my Sons
at 5:20 and sat in my food plot in a 20 ft. wooden ladder
with a hang on stand.Shag bark hickory pain in the a**.
At 7:50 I see a deer on the other side.Looks like a 1.5 spike.
A min. later his brother shows up.They are nervous(not from
me I cant hit sh**. ;D.By 8:20 they are close to me.I have
Butternut out and the first buck never gave it a look.He was
40 yds and I said no way.The second little buck looked at
the butternut and came in to check it out.By now I said screw
the sent-lok head cover and took it off.I put on my glasses
and drew the bow.He was broad side at 18 or so yards.Wac
I see dirt fly and say eather a pass through or a miss .
He runs 50 yards stops then I cant see him.I said stay in this
stand 20 min before you look for the arrow. As I'm sitting I
look and see a small deer right below, then two.Fawns that
were almost out of spots. They payed no attention to the
Butternut and I think more interested in the 2 bucks that just
walked by.At 8:30 I said LORD give me a good hit or a clean
miss.I got the clean miss .But will take that any day.I don't
like shooting little deer and wasn't in it 100%.Seeing that I
took off the head cover and put on glasses I'm down to 2
things one as mentioned is my anchor point and the other is
even though I keep saying aim low at the shot I shoot like
I do with a gun .When I shoot at my Rinehart buck from a
tree stand I aim at the hart and get a great hit every time.I
have to retrain myself on that one, plus change my anchor point.
I hope to get it together before I get into some big deer.
