I got my certification today. Even with all of the years I have bowhunted, it was very interesting and informative. I also talked to the instructor and he is going to sponsor me to become an instructor. I plan on teaching Hunter's Ed and Bowhunters Ed so I can hopefully teach many generations of safe and responsible hunters for years to come and help to preserve our great sport.

Hey, that's great news. What happened, did you move to an area that requires the certification?

Hey, that's great news. What happened, did you move to an area that requires the certification? No, Spiker. Tennessee does not require it although I feel they should, but I have been wanting to take it. They only offer a couple of classes a year because it's not required and they are usually far away. This one was local, 15 mins from the house, so I took advantage of the opportunity. jamaltwy, Buckshot- That's exactly what I was thinking. This sport has given me so much so this is an opportunity for me to give back and I can't have credibility in my argument for certification without being certified myself. Also, what kind of person am I to just sit back and complain about what some bowhunters do instead of actively doing something to help make people better bowhunters. If people got more actively involved, I think hunting would be viewed a lot differently by the general public. It's kind of like people who don't vote; if they don't vote then they can't b@#*h about what happens. JMO.

Been teaching bowhunter education for many years. The best part I like is the people that have been bowhunting for all kinds of years and really dont think they need it but come out anyway. After the class is over the comments are amazing. " Wow I really did learn something" Getting the whole class involved with all the years of knowledge everyone (including the instructors) learn something.
Congrats to you for getting out there and wanting to teach.

Congrats to you for getting out there and wanting to teach. I have bow hunted off and on for 20 years and I learned several things. The instructor has been bow hunting since before I was born. LOL! I know what you mean by the years of experience in one place, in a Q&A type situation.

Madoktor1 welcome to the bowhunter education fraternity. I teach bowhunter education as well firearms safety and hunter safety courses. got involved for the same reasons.
I stopped complaining about the problems and got in there to have a say on fixing the problems.
