I am always in my spot way before first light. The thing is I see 90% of my deer between 7:30 and 8:30.When I used to hunt late day I would see them 5 to 10 min before dark

I'm almost ALWAYS in my stand one hour or more before daylight on any stand that overlooks a trail from feeding to bedding areas. In the evenings however, I most ALWAYS pick a stand on the edge of a field where there is or was corn, oats, soy beans or other kind of "graze". In the evening I have always found that in the area where I live, they show up along the edge of fields in the evening.

It's been pretty consistant up here where I live, and even north. I see them in the morning around 8:30-9:30, and around 4:00-5:30 in the evening. In Sept. that's well before dark at 8:00 or so. Daylight is late also..around 6:30. I also have seen them at noon, and 2:30, but that was once...and on the same day....gunfire all around must have got them moving...

In the A.M., I get out there 1/2 before light and thats too soon. Generally I see deer from first light till 2 1/2 hours after light. I see the majority of deer 1 hour or less before dark with the vast majority being in the last 20 minutes or less.
I get out there way too early on new property, just so that my scent has time to dissipate.
