I rattled in my first deer of 2010 today. Rattled a light sequence...did a little grunting, then hit the horns pretty hard. As I was hanging up the horns, I could hear a deer running to me. Grabbed my bow and turned, and as the deer got into sight I saw about a 12 inch spike. Hung the bow up and just watched. Ended up a spike on one side, and 3 point on the other. Not a shooter, but nice to get a response to the antlers. Of course, I had him broadside in a lane at 25 yards....I'm sure that wouldn't have happened if it was a shooter. Kris got busted by a big 8 or 9 this evening in one of our stands. Chasing does...it's on...

A buddy from work killed a massive buck this past weekend. (He said he wasn't chasing does or smashing heads, but he was out a little later in the morning (just out of range) and earlier in the day ... the last time he'll make that mistake. I'll post a pic when I can.

He scored exactly 136 ... 22" main beams and 10"g2's. His 2nd biggest deer.

That is impressive. I've been seeing scrape lines start, Kris has seen does being chased, so it's getting close.

Very nice deer,Looks like the one I got with the rifle last Nov.measures 133 6/8 after two months of drying. Not sure if I can do better here in New England the wood bucks with great racks are few and far between. To get them in nice shape like that you have to get them early before they get all beat up and broken!

My father informed me this morning that "Last night a young buck was chasing a doe"
Things are getting closer ... can't wait! Cold front is supposed to blow through here this week, bringing rain ... weekend should be clear though. High this week is supposed to be in the high 60's - low 70's.

He also mentioned this morning on his way to work he seen a deer that was hit just in front of him. The deer didn't win the duel with a semi ...
