I'd shoot for that little dimple just to the left of the golden rod BT mentioned.
She is looking your direction, but not really. she's totaly relaxed ad feeding

What is hard about these, is that you don't know what the shooters situation is. Are you well hidden or out in the open? If you are out in the open, by the time you draw, that elk will not be so relaxed. They catch movement very well at ground level. You may or may not have a shot by the time you draw. She might snort and look, she might turn and run, she might jump and stop, or she might do nothing. It can be so hard to get in like this on an elk, I'd at least wait until she scratches the other side of her face, or takes another step, or...

I would wait - I guarantee that she is in an opening - probably a logging unit - and there should be better chances. If that is the brush I think it is it is a very stiff hard brush and a deflection is a good possibility. I believe it is Menziesia - and the other brush is willow and what I call wax leaf - all are found in hot sunny openings shes' relaxed and feeding, more chances to come unless something else spooks her. jm.02
